Why This Matters

Across many communities, women and girls continue to face barriers related to health literacy, menstrual dignity, education and mental wellbeing. Social stigma, lack of reliable information and limited access to supportive services often prevent individuals from making informed decisions about their health and future. These challenges affect not only women’s health and confidence but also their education, economic participation and overall quality of life. When girls miss school due to menstrual stigma, when mental health concerns remain unspoken, or when women lack opportunities to participate in decision-making, entire communities are affected. FGEWS works to address these challenges by promoting knowledge, dignity, inclusion and empowerment, ensuring that women and girls have the tools and opportunities needed to lead healthier and more empowered lives.
