Creation of FGEWS
Fempure Global Empowerment and Wellness Society (FGEWS) was founded by Dr. Madeeha Malik (Founder) and Ms. Ayisha Hashmi (Co-Founder) with a shared vision to advance health, education, gender equity and women’s empowerment through
community-driven solutions.
In 2020, the founders established Cyntax Health Projects, a Contract Research Organization (CRO) and Corporate Firm dedicated to evidence-based health research, policy analysis and innovative health solutions. Through their work with Cyntax, they engaged with communities, health professionals and policy stakeholders across Pakistan, gaining first-hand insight into the systemic barriers affecting health, education and wellbeing. These experiences revealed significant gaps in health literacy, access to reliable health information and individuals’ ability especially women and girls to make informed decisions about their health and life. Many communities also faced broader social challenges, including limited opportunities for girls’ education, restricted participation of women in decision-making processes and deep-rooted gender inequalities that continue to affect women’s health and economic empowerment.
At the same time, emerging concerns such as mental health challenges, body image pressures and eating disorders among adolescents and young women remain under- recognized and rarely discussed due to social stigma and lack of awareness.
Recognizing that sustainable change requires more than research alone, the founders envisioned a platform that could translate knowledge into community empowerment, gender equity and social action. In 2025, they initiated the establishment of Fempure Global Empowerment and Wellness Society as a Non-profit organization committed to advancing holistic wellbeing, women’s empowerment and inclusive community development.
In 2026, FGEWS was formally registered as a Non-profit organization, marking an important milestone in creating a platform that bridges research, education, community engagement and social impact. Today, FGEWS works to strengthen communities by promoting health literacy, mental wellbeing, girls’ education, gender equity and women’s leadership while creating safe spaces where sensitive health issues can be discussed openly. Through its programs and partnerships, the Society aims to empower individuals particularly women and young people with the knowledge, confidence and opportunities needed to lead healthier and more equitable lives.
